Step 5: Super connection
Connectors are not just people who know a lot of people; they are people with a knack for making friends and links wherever they go. Primarily, there are two types of connectors found in a network, namely strong connectors and weak connectors. It is important to identify strong connectors and keep regular contacts with them by following their activities, joining common events and sending emails. This is an effective way to have more contacts or network connections and improve and strengthen mutual connections. Thus, in the course of time anyone can become a super connector for others as well. For example, for an immigrant job seeker, strong connectors could be mentors, language teachers, friends and facilitators. Sometimes weak connectors may be more important for job searching. But gradually they may turn into strong connectors.
